For those interested in the study of Latin America, there are a number of additional resources available online that may be of interest.

América Latina Portal Europeo - A collaborative project between REDIAL (Red Europea de Información y Documentación sobre América Latina) and CEISAL (Consejo Europeo de Investigaciones Sociales de América Latina), the European Portal provides citation information (with some abstracts and/or links to full text) for articles about Latin America in European journals. It is possible to search the database by keyword as well as browse by country of publication or journal title. The site also offers information about Latin Americanist scholars, programs, virtual libraries, news, etc.

Chicano Database - The Chicano Database is a comprehensive bibliographic index for information about Mexican-American topics. It indexes journal articles, newspapers, books and book chapters about Chicanos and also covers the broader Latino experience of Puerto Ricans, Cuban Americans, and Central American immigrants (1992 to the present). Produced by the University of California, Berkeley, your library may subscribe through EBSCO Discovery Services (EDS).

HLAS Online (Handbook of Latin American Studies Online) - The Handbook is a bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities. Each year, more than 130 academics from around the world choose between 3,000 and 5,000 works for inclusion in the Handbook.

LANIC (Latin American Network Information Center) - LANIC's mission is to facilitate access to Internet-based information to, from, or on Latin America. Based at the University of Texas at Austin, LANIC's editorially reviewed directories contain over 10,000 unique URLs, one of the largest guides for Latin American content on the Internet.

LAPTOC (Latin American Periodicals Tables of Contents) - LAPTOC is a searchable web database that provides access to the tables of contents of more than 975 journals, published between 1994 and 2009, primarily in the humanities and social sciences, published in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is possible to search LAPTOC, as well as to browse journals by country. LAPTOC is part of the Latin Americanist Research Resources Project (LARRP).

Redalyc (Red de Revistas Científicas de América Latina y el Caribe, España y Portugal) - Redalyc, a non-profit, open access initiative based at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, provides the full text of hundreds of Latin American journals covering topics in the social sciences, humanities, and sciences. The site permits searching and browsing (by country or discipline). Where available, HAPI provides links to the full text of articles through Redalyc.

SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) - SciELO was created as a partnership of the State of São Paulo Science Foundation (FAPESP), the Latin America and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information (BIREME), as well as other national and international institutions. It includes open access to an impressive array of academic journals in the social sciences, sciences, and humanities. The site permits searching and browsing (by country or discipline). Where available, HAPI provides links to the full text of articles through SciELO.
